Mark's Yashica AF 35-70mm sn 6925924 lens8-21-24: This one is meant for the Yashica 300 AF, as it has 10 pins and supports the power zoom function. It arrived with the focus and zoom rings sticky from rotting spray-on rubber coating. This treatment was popular when plastic lenses appeared. It's easy to remove with alcohol, but any lettering sprayed on it's surface is removed also. Markings sprayed on bare plastic are not as easily removed. The zoom ring can be used manually by pulling it back, towards the camera, which disconnects the motor drive. In the forward position it's a 2 position switch, rocking left or right. It's so slow that I prefer leaving it in manual.Click any pic to enlarge to full screen in a new tab. Close tab to return. |
